Editorial Policy

Version May 2026

Mission

Johevo publishes readable, cinematically literate criticism aimed at readers who value precision over hype. Our obligation is to the audience’s understanding—and to filmmakers’ work as experienced in screening context.

Independence

Editorial staff assigns coverage without advertiser consultation. Studios may supply screening access or press notes; such materials do not guarantee favorable coverage. Paid partnerships, when they occur, are labeled and kept visually distinct from reviews.

Conflicts

Contributors disclose personal relationships, prior employment, or financial ties that could influence coverage. Editors may recuse writers or add contextual notes when conflicts cannot be fully mitigated.

Corrections

Factual errors—credits, dates, terminology—are corrected in place when feasible, with an appended note describing the change and date. Interpretive disagreements are addressed via follow-up articles or editor’s notes, not silent edits.

Spoilers

Reviews avoid gratuitous third-act revelation unless analysis requires it; spoiler-sensitive sections are signaled in section headings where practical.

Advertising adjacency

Johevo may monetize through display advertising suitable for brand-safe editorial environments. Ads do not influence star ratings. Sponsored articles, if published, carry prominent sponsor labeling and are produced outside the daily reviews desk.

Diversity & fairness

We seek perspectives across backgrounds and avoid stereotype reinforcement. When covering controversial works, we contextualize craft choices without platforming harassment.
